Opportunities in Haiti

Have you ever thought about going on a foreign mission to Haiti? If so, then why not contact Serving Feet? Serving Feet is all about Haiti missions, and the next trip is right around the corner! The next trip will be December 26, 2014 through January 2, 2015. What better way to celebrate the new year than by serving those in need, and bringing glory to the Kingdom of God!

The following excerpt is taken from the Serving Feet blog, and provides some information about what this upcoming trip will entail.

We will be returning to Haiti on December 26. Estimated cost is $1,300 per person. We would love to have you as part of the team if God is calling you to Haiti! Contact us today. During this trip we will be conducting a ladies sewing class, preserving food class, installing solar panels, conducting small business class, working on a caretakers house and distributing Christmas Shoe Boxes.

We have some immediate needs at the project: We need support for the 4 teachers that are currently working at the school. The school is teaching 60 children that would not be in school otherwise. The need is $700.00 a month to pay teachers and the helpers. We need funds to install 5 solar panels at the project so there will be light as there is no electricity. The panels are$600.00 each and that includes batteries and installation materials. Click on the how you can help category to donate. Thank you and God Bless.

Notice that a big part of Serving Feet is teaching life skills that can be used even when the mission teams are not on the ground in Haiti. This philosophy is reflected in the vision statement of Serving Feet:

Our Vision: “Empowering with Love and Life Skills”

Empower them with the love of christ and teach them life skills to help them become independent.

1 John 3: 17-19 – let us not love with words or speech, but with ACTIONS and in truth

After all, if you can serve in a way that allows that love to continue to flourish among the resident Haitians long after you are gone, then why wouldn’t you do that. This is empowerment! This is long term love!

So visit the Serving Feet blog, and click on the “About Us/Contact Us” category to learn how you too can be obedient to God by serving on mission in Haiti!

Helping Hands Foreign Mission: The Village of Eden

Opportunities in Uganda

image(43)If you are looking for a foreign mission opportunity why not check out The Village of Eden (VOE) in Uganda? The Village of Eden is a project of Helping Hands Foreign Missions (HHFM). According to the HHFM site the vision for the VOE is:

God is moving in a mighty way in Uganda; the people’s hearts are open and “the fields are ripe for the harvest.” God has given Helping Hands a vision for the country of Uganda, a God-sized vision which can only be accomplished through His power! We are building a “model” Christian village, which is a lighthouse for the country of Uganda, and a place which represents what the body of Christ should look like-everyone working together for the glory of God. It is called “The Village of Eden.”

Some of us from Dudezonmission have been to the VOE, and it is really indescribable. First you are hit with an extreme feeling of desperation when you see how much need there is in the villages throughout Uganda. Once you see what God is doing at the Village of Eden though you are suddenly overcome with intense hope.

Opportunities to Live Out James 1:27

If you want to go a step further you can always sponsor a child through HHFM! The rates vary depending on thimage(88)e child, but the hope that you bring with sponsorship does not. Greg Corral and I each sponsor a child through Help1780693_1482148545373065_2678890176975878486_ning Hands, and we got to meet those children when we were in Uganda earlier this month. There is nothing like giving those children the things that you just can’t send through the mail… like a giant hug!

So why not sponsor a child through Helping Hands, and then go visit him or her in person? James 1:27 reads:

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

The message could not be clearer, and Hands Foreign Missions provides a way to live out James 1:27 in a very real way!
